Background

Manaslu Base Camp Trek is an adventurous trek that explores the foothills of the Manaslu range and goes through Manaslu Conservation Area. The Manaslu area is an ancient valley very well known since the past, located in the northern region of the district of Gorkha. Loaded with spectacular sights and adventure, traversing through this region also allows you to relish the culture and traditions of the Nubri and Tibetan communities. Filled with amazing views of the Mansiri Himalayas, gleaming glaciers, waterfalls, and thunderous rivers, the trek is worth your time.

Manaslu Base Camp Trek is a 16-day-long adventure that begins with your arrival in Kathmandu. The next day, you explore the beautiful and culturally rich city of Kathmandu. You will visit some of the World Heritage Sites such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath. The Manaslu adventure begins as you drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola, Rasuwa District. Trekking through Sal and rhododendron forest, you climb up a ridgeline to Maccha Khola and then to Jagat. Leaving Jagat, you are welcomed by the beautiful view of the mountains that lead you to villages influenced by Tibetan culture. You will pass through Deng, Namrung and then to Samagaon. You will spend a day in Samagaon and trek to Manaslu Base Camp from there. Following the trail through a forest, you ascend steeply up a slope and then onto a moraine to arrive at the Manaslu Base Camp. You get a close-up view of Manaslu (8163m) from here. After a short time, you head back to Samagaon and make your way back to Machha Khola passing Namrung, Deng, and Jagat on the way. From Machha Khola, you will walk to Arughat, where the trek comes to an end. The months of September to December and February to May are the best seasons to venture in this region.

Our company, Miteri Nepal, designs a flexible itinerary to give you the best experience for your climb. Our guides and leaders have been taking travellers to a different region of Nepal for trek and tours for many years. They will be present to supervise you in every step of the venture.
