Mustang trek is one of the famous treks of Nepal. The name “Mustang” is derived from the Tibetan word which means plain of Aspiration. It is also famous with name ancient forbidden kingdom which is bordered by the Tibetan plateau. It is a hidden paradise with heavenly beautiful landscape, Buddhist shrine such as Stupas ,Chordens,Prayer wheels, and old monasteries .It is divided into two parts Upper Mustang and Lower Mustang. In Upper Mustang mostly Tibetan like people  and Gurung are  inhabit whereas in the Lower Mustang Thakali are inhabits .Lomangthang is a capital of Upper Mustang which lies in the remote Himalaya dessert behind the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountain ranges. The beauty of Mustang changes with a change of season . The Upper Mustang was officially opened to Foreign Trekkers and visitors in 1992 .Today foreigner who are keen interest  to visit Upper  Mustang can visit after buying  a special Permits of USD 500 per person for ten days .The trip of Mustang can be arrange only the Licensed Trekking companies of Nepal. We offer a best itinerary and cost to the trekkers who are keen interest on it both in joining basis and private basis .

  • Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu

    Upon arrival our representative will greed you and transfer you to the hotel . On arrival in hotel you will be welcome by hotel staff with a welcome drink. Check in hotel and take refreshment and  rest after your long flight .Evening  you can stroll around .Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu .

  • Day 02:  Kathmandu Sightseeing and

    After morning delicious  breakfast  in the hotel we will start a guided tour to some UNESCO listed world heritage sites such as Pashupatinath  the sacred Hindu temple , Swoyambhunath the famous ‘Monkey Templ and Buddhists shrine Bouddhanath the large Stupa within the world.  During your sightseeing we will prepare your all necessary entry documents of your trekking .Evening you will meet with a Guide and discuss  regarding the trek and next day departure . Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu .

  • Day 03:Kathmandu -Pokhara

    Early in the morning  we will drive towards Pokhara either in the Tourist Bus or by private luxurious Vehicles  following Prithivi Highway. It takes approximately 6-7 hours to reach Pokhara .Upon arrival at Pokhara you will check in the hotel and take refreshment .  Afternoon we will visit David falls,Gupteshowar Mahadev Cave and Fewa lake. Overnight at Hotel in Pokhara .

  •  Day 04:Pokhara – Jomsom – Kagbeni

    Our guide assists you to transfer for Pokhara Airport to fly for Jomsom. This scenic adventurous flight takes about 20-25 minutes passing through the world’s deepest George presenting spectacular mountain views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna Ranges and Fishtail with several famous peaks within the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri area. Upon arrival at Jomsom airport we will start our trek towards Kagbeni. It takes about 3-4 hours walk. Kagbeni  is a check point for entrance to restricted Upper Mustang Trekking. En route you can see fantastic  views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and Tukuche peak .Overnight  at tea house in Kagbeni .

  • Day 05: Kagbeni – Chaile

    After completing the formalities of showing your restricted area trekking permit  we immediately  start our trekking  because in Mustang there is  heavy wind which gets up later in the day, blowing dust and sand around. En route we can see Nilgiri glowing like orange in the first rays of the sun. We follow western route, go behind the east bank of the river until we reach the end of a broad valley Chusang. At first the trial ascends  following  the river closely and later it leads eastwards to flat, dry, desert-like land. Then we will see a mesmerizing  Mustang with red sandstone pillars and rock formations with fantastic forms and colors, formed by thousands of years of erosion. Then we reach the first main village Tangbe. Later appears , Chaile as a small white dot at the end of the canyon. Now the trial descends gradually to the river-bed  and the area is well-known for its fossils. The valley narrows further north and a steep trail leads us up to Chaile, which is a small town with good views towards the Himalayan ranges.  Ovenight at tea house in Chaile .

  •  Day 06: Chaile – Shyangboche

    Today’s trek begins with a steep climb and follow westward trial .We see Ghyakar on the opposite side of a deep canyon  trail turns right, following the gorge.After about one hour we are on a pass offering a good view towards Samar, the Kali Gandaki valley and snow-capped peaks in the distance. Later we cross a side-valley, descending to its base and crossing over a creek. About two hours from Samar we will see red painted cave monastery, which looks as if it has been stuck on to the vertical wall. This is Rangchyung chorten, one of the most sacred places in Mustang. The meaning of Rangchyung chorten is  ‘the chorten that formed itself’, because inside there are  two large dripstone like chorten form. It is also believe that the two famous Buddhist teachers, Padmasambhava and Atisha stayed in this cave centuries ago. So you can find the prayer flags on the ceiling and small clay figures inside left by Pilgrims.Overnight at Tea house in Syangboche .

  • Day 07:Shyangboche – Ghami(3460m)

    Within 15 minutes of our  trek we will  pass the  first  high passes (Yanda La )out of three .Then we will pass a distinctive red chorten painted with Buddhism’s eight auspicious symbols. A valley with groups of yellowish trees appears .  The houses are built close together and look fortress-like, Ghelung is spread out wide on a patch of green grass and gives the impression of being a fairly wealth little community. The hills seems brown with bare and  can see the Nyi La pass straight ahead. Then trial descends gradually towards the Ghami La pass and on the way we see a rundown, deserted village downstream.   Later,the  broad valley comes in from in the  left-hand side and in its centre is Ghami, Mustang’s third largest town, which is high above the river and surrounded by fields.Overnight at tea house in Ghami .

  • Day 08: Ghami – Tsarang(3560m)

    Outside Ghami we see a longest Mani wall  of Mustang  which is approximately 1000m long and decorated with simple carvings, blending in well with the surrounding scenery. There is also a group of chortens standing in front of the red wall  which magnify the beautiful  architecture extend  in nature. According to legend when the famous Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) came to the area and destroyed a evil, its intestines fell  at the site where the Mani wall stands, its lungs fell near  the red cliffs behind and its heart at the spot where Mustang’s oldest monastery, Lo Gekar, was built. A slow climb takes us up at 3820m pass where a  lunar-looking desert stretches to the horizon. There is no sign of vegetation or human life here, only barren hill. The first indication of human presence we can  see in the  next is the Tsarang chorten.It is a  large red-painted Stupa  situated in the  middle of the landscape and further down the monastery. A broad road leads to Tsarang, Mustang’s second town, with around 1000 inhabitants. Overnight at tea house in Tsarang .

  • Day 09 – 10: Tsarang – Lo Manthang (3730m)

    We  begins  our trek on flat terrain and the view, apart from a chorten and a few caves, is monotonous barrenness. After crossing a pass and waking through two rocks forming a natural gate we will  finally arrive at Lo Manthang. Lomanthang is the capital city of Mustangi Raja. The next day we will explore the beauty of Lo Mangthang. From the pass we descend to Lo Manthang which is a beautiful walled village. From here the views of the Himalayas including Nilgiri, Tilicho and Annapurna I, Bhrikuti Peak as well as Damodar Kunda (pond) is quite good. Overnight in Lo-Manthang.

  • Day 11: Lo Manthang -Ghar Gompa -Drakmar(3810m,6-7hrs trek)

    We trek on a different route when returning from Lo-Manthang. Our trail passes through Gyakar village which houses a century old Ghar Gompa with beautiful rock paintings. According to a local legend, anyone who makes a wish at the Gompa will have it fulfilled. We explore the Gompa which is 1200 years old and continue our trek to Drakmar.Overnight at tea house in  Drakmar .

  • Day 12: Drakmar-Syangmochen (3806m,5-6hrs)

    After the early breakfast we start our trek so that we could void strong winds .We have descends for the most part of the trek. Our trail passes through a dry plateau and fields before reaching Syangmochen. The walk can be relatively difficult as we are most likely to experience strong winds on our face, but we still get good views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri mountains.. Overnight at tea house in Syangboche .

  • Day 13:Syangboche -Chhuksang (3050m,5-6hrs trek)

    We begin our trek after breakfast. We walk on the same trail as before going up to Lo Manthang. On the way to Chhuksang we can enjoy great views of the Himalayas and small villages we pass en route. Overnight in Chhuksang.

  • Day 14:Chhuksang-Jomsom (2700m,6-7hrs trek)

    Today is the last day of our trek but have to walk long distance.So we will start our treak after the early breakfast . After trekking for a while, we come to an end of our Mustang trails and join the trails of the Annapurna circuit. We stop for lunch at Kagbeni. After lunch, we continue our trek to Jomsom .Overnight at guest house in Jomsom .

  • Day 15:Jomsom-Pokhara-Kathmandu

    After the breakfast we will take a flight to Pokhara .On arrival at Pokhara airport we will wait for few minutes to catch the connective flight to Kathmandu .Then we will again fly back to Kathmandu . Our  representative will be waiting you at domestic airport in Kathmandu.Upon your arrival he will pick you and transfer you to the hotel. Evening you have a farewell dinner in the live Nepal culture show .  Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu .

  • Day 16: Departure

    With a lots of beautiful memories and photos of Nepal you will departure to your destination today  .So as per your flight schedule our representative will drop you to the International airport before 3 hours of your flight timing .
