Pokhara is arguably the most beautiful city in Nepal. This city of lakes is a mirror for the mighty Himalayas in the north. Its laid-back charm and the colorful nightlife, along with the view of Annapurna (8091m) and Machhapuchhre (6997m) over the skyline makes Pokhara ideal destinations for tourists. On the Pokhara Valley Tour, you will visit not only the main tourist’s hotspots of Pokhara but also get an overall tour of Kathmandu Valley. A great sunrise view, arts, and architecture on display, beautiful lakes and hills, this tour gives you the very best of Nepal.

 

Your 8-day tour starts as you land in Kathmandu. You will spend two days exploring Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur where you visit all the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in these three cities. The sites you will visit are Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square. These sites reflect a mix of Buddhism and Hinduism, ancient arts and Newari culture that has shaped the overall culture of Nepal. After Kathmandu, we head to Pokhara via tourist bus enjoying the view of Trishuli River. While in Pokhara, you can boat on the Phewa Lake and visit the Tal Barahi Temple. After watching the beautiful sunrise in Sarangkot, you begin your tour around Pokhara. Mahendra Cave, Bat Cave, and Davis Falls are other popular destinations in Pokhara. We can also hike to World Peace Pagoda, a hill-top which offers you wonderful view of the hills around Pokhara and the Annapurna Himalayas in the north. From museums to waterfalls, there are many places to visit in Pokhara. After you spend two days exploring and visiting most of the famous sites in Pokhara, you will drive back to Kathmandu. The tour ends with your departure home from Kathmandu.

  • Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 

    On your arrival in Kathmandu, our company representative will pick you up at Tribhuvan International Airport and bring you to your hotel. There are no scheduled activities or sightseeing today. So, you can rest for the day, enjoy and explore on your own. 

     

  • Day 2: Full-day guided sightseeing tour to Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple and Swayambhunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square

    We start our tour with an early morning visit to Swayambhunath, popularly known as Monkey Temple. Since it is located at a hilltop, the view of the city in the early morning is a sight to see. After that, we head to Boudhanath stupa which is filled with art and architectures that reflect Tibetan Buddhism. Next, we head to Pashupatinath, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Lastly, we visit the Kathmandu Durbar Square, the royal palace of Malla and Shah Kings during their rule.  

  • Day 3: Full-day guided sightseeing tour to Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square

    On this day, we head to Bhaktapur and Patan (Lalitpur) districts, just outside Kathmandu. We visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square first. This was a royal palace of ancient Bhaktapur Kingdom. Naytapola, 55 windowed palaces, Golden Gate, and local museum are some of the major attractions here. Next, we visit Lalitpur where the famous Patan Durbar Square lies. Patan Durbar square is a perfect blend of modernization and the ancient tradition. Many temples, courtyards, statues were created during the Newa Kingdom and are still preserved well in this community.

  • Day 4: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

    With the end of Kathmandu valley tour, we leave Kathmandu and head towards Pokhara. We drive through the Mugling-Narayanghat Highway watching the beautiful paddy fields, rural houses, and Trishuli River. We will reach Pokhara after 5-6 hours of drive. After reaching Pokhara, we take a short walk around Phewa Lake and enjoy boating till evening. You can also enjoy live music in the restaurants near the lakeside.

     

  • Day 5: Sightseeing Pokhara: (Sarangkot, Mahendra Cave, Bat Cave)

    We drive early to Sarangkot to witness one of the best sunrise views in Pokhara. The morning sun radiates the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges when it rises. Then, we head towards Mahendra Cave, a large limestone cave near Kali Khola. A statue of Hindu Lord Shiva lies inside the cave. Bat cave, another one among many caves in Pokhara is at ten minutes walking distance from Mahendra Cave. 

     

  • Day 6: Sightseeing Pokhara (World Peace Stupa, International Mountain Museum, Davis Falls and Gupteshwor cave)

    On this day, we hike to World Peace Stupa which is an excellent viewpoint to enjoy the views of the splendid Annapurna Himalayan range, Pokhara Valley, and Phewa Lake. From here, we head towards the International Mountain Museum. Records and photographs of all historic events in mountaineering history are preserved and presented with pride here. Davis Falls is another destination for the day. It is a waterfall which forms a big underground tunnel after reaching the ground. From the tunnel, the water passes through Gupteshwor Cave, another tourist spots in Pokhara. 

  • Day 7: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

    We wave our goodbyes to the beautiful city of Pokhara and drive to Kathmandu early in the morning. Enjoying the views of forests, villages, hills, and rivers we head back through the Mugling- Naubise road to Kathmandu. You will arrive at Kathmandu early in the evening. The rest of the evening can be spent resting at your hotel or strolling around Thamel.

  • Day 8: Departure

    The Pokhara Tour has come to an end. On the 8th day, you wave your goodbyes to everyone in Kathmandu and head home. Our company representative will drop you to the airport. We wish you a safe journey with the hopes to cross paths with you in the future.
