Duer Hot Springs Trek is a challenging Trek, the route distance overlaps with the Snowman Trek. This journey will take you up to the Duer Hot springs, one of the most pristine and beautiful hot springs in the Himalayas. The trail has numerous steep ascents and descents and ranges from altitudes between (3,000-4,700 m). Juli La (4,700m) is the highest point on the trail. This trek will take you through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Bhutan. You will journey through forests of spruce, hemlock, juniper and maple, through regions populated by herds of Blue Sheep, Musk Deer and even Himalayan Black Bears.An entire day will be dedicated to resting in the hot springs. The periods between March to April and September to November are the best times to take on this challenging route.

  • Day 1: Arrival at Paro

    On arrival at Paro airport and complement of immigration formalities, our representative will be pick you and transfer to the hotel. Take refreshment and afternoon visit Ta Dzong, and Rinpung Dzong. Overnight at hotel in Paro.

  • Day 2: Paro -Thimphu

    After hot fresh breakfast, take a hike towards Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) which takes approximately 1:30-2 hours. If the weather is clear you can see the views of Paro City from cliff of Taktshang. After lunch, you will visit Drukgyel Dzong. And evening drive to Thimpu the capital city of Bhutan. Overnight at Hotel in Thimpu.

  • Day 3: Thimphu – Bumthang

    After early activities we will proceed our journey towards Bumthang. Halt few minutes in Pelela Pass for photography.Again drive towards Bhumthang .Overnight at Bhumthang

  • Day 4: Bumthang- Duer / Gorsum (18km, 6-7 hours)

    The day continue the trek following the Yoleng Chhu, a river known for its abundance of trout. The trail from Bumthang valley to Gorsum is a gradual climb.We will campsite at an altitude of (3,120m) in the Gorsum.

  • Day 5: Gorsum -Lungsum (12km, 5hours)

    As usual after the morning breakfast we will pursue our  trek following the trail through a dense forest of Spruce, Hemlock, Cypress, Juniper and Maple. Overnight at campsite, located at an altitude of (3,160m).

  • Day 6: Lungsum – Tsochenchen (15km, 6-7hours)

    You will begin your  trek following similar trails like yesterday. As you climb higher up, you will enter vegetation above tree line. The vegetation along the route is similar to places crossed the previous day. Near the campsite the vegetation thins out and the camp is made above tree line at an altitude of (3,780 m). Overnight stay at campsite in Tsochenchen.

  • Day 7: Tshochenchen – Duer Tshachu (18km,8-9hours)

    The trek from Tsochenchen is uphill all the way until Juli La at around 4,700 m. If the day is clear, you will have a great view of mountains from the Pass. After crossing the pass, the trail descends to a lake at 4,220 m, and then climbs again to Gokthong La at 4,640 m. From here the path is steep descent until the campsite. Musk deer, herds of blue sheep and Himalayan bears can be seen sometimes on the route. Overnight at campsite an altitude of 3,590 meters.

  • Day 8: Duer Tshachu

    Today we will rest at the Duer Tsachu ,have  relaxation in the rejuvenating hot springs which will relief your pain muscles and tired body or take a leisurely hike around areas. This will be the highlights of this trek.

  • Day 9: Duer Tsachu  -Tshochenchen (18km,8-9hours)

    The day begins with delicious breakfast and return by the same route taken before . The journey will be even stiff than before as there is slightly more climbing than descending.Overnight halt in campsite in Tshochenchen .

  • Day 10: Tshochenchen -Lungsum.(15km,5hours)

    With the beautiful memories and beautiful scene we will trek back from Tshochenchen to Lungsum .Overnight at campsite in Lungsum .

  • Day 11: Lungsum – Gorsum(12km,4 hours).

    After breakfast, our trek begins from Lungsum for Gorsum. The trail descends gradually until the bridge near Duer village, where you reach the road head. Overnight stay in campsite in Gorsum.

  • Day 12: Gorsum – Duer Village (18km,6 hours)

    After breakfast, you will begin your trek from Gorsum. The trail descends gradually until the bridge near Duer village, where you will  reach the road head.Your transportation will be awaiting you to take you to the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Bumthang.

  • Day 13: Bumthang to Thimphu.

    Today we will have a long drive from Bhumthang to Thimphu .Overnight at  hotel in Thimphu and retreat for the night.

  • Day 14: Thimphu – Paro.

    As usual after breakfast we will visit Kuensel Phodrang, The National Memorial Chorten and Changangkha Lhakhang, Paper Factory and Zoo. Afternoon we will drive to Paro. Overnight at hotel in Paro.

  • Day 15: Departures

    After early breakfast in the hotel your guide will drop you to the airport for your onward destination.
