Background
The Gosainkunda Lake Trek is an exotic trek that takes you through the glorious Langtang National Park and settles at the pristine Gosainkunda Lake. Traversing through different terrains you have the spectacular view of glaciers and magnificent mountains. Langtang Lirung (7227m), Ganesh Himal (7422m), Manaslu (8156m), Gangchempo (6,388m), Tserko Ri (4984m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m), Yala Peak (5500m) and many other magnificent peaks welcome you along with most parts of the trek. The trek is a brilliant introduction to the Gosainkunda Lake system sacred to both Hindu and Buddhist adherents.

The Gosainkunda Lake Trek is 13 days long and begins from Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, you will first drive to Sybrubensi. The trek begins from Sybrubensi and enters the beautiful Langtang Valley. Walking through the grassland path alongside the Langtang River, you reach Lama Hotel. From there, you trek past Ghodatabela and reach Langtang Village. Passing Mani walls, several streams, and a moraine, you catch the sight of the Kyanjin Gompa. Kyanjin Gompa is a famous monastery in the region. Next, accompanied by the breathtaking view of the magnificent snow giants you retrace your steps and trek to Thulo Syabru. The trek heads southeast towards the lower parts of the Langtang region and crosses Lauribina. Further ahead, the trek continues along the Chyolang Pati Danda to arrive at the Gosainkunda Lake. It is a popular religious site that receives thousands of devotees every year. The lake is situated at the altitude of 4,380 meters and offers a mesmerizing display of the Langtang and Dorje Lakpa ranges. After spending a day exploring the lake site, you descend to Chandanbari before going downhill to arrive at the settlement of Dhunche.
