Background
Khopra Danda Trek is a welcoming trek in the southern foothills of the Annapurna ranges. The trek is an alternative route to the treks around the beautiful Ghorepani-Poon Hill-Ghandruk areas of the Annapurna region. The trek takes you to the beautiful Khayer Lake with an amazing view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Passing through the Annapurna Conservation Area, the trek is one of the easiest ones in the region. In addition to the natural beauty, you will also visit the charming Gurung villages, and learn their culture and lifestyle on this trek.

Khopra Danda Trek is a 12-day-long trip and it begins with your arrival in Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, you head to Pokhara and then drive to Nayapul from where the trekking starts. The first destination on the trek is Ghandruk which is a beautiful Gurung village with a great view of Annapurna (8091m) and Machhapuchhre (6997m). From Ghandruk, we take the main trekking route to Tadapani and then to Dobato from where the trail deviates to Upper Chistibung. From here, we make it to our destination in Khopra Ridge. After enjoying the sunrise view from Khopra Ridge and exploring the Khayer Lake, we head to Ghorepani passing Swanta village on the way. From Ghorepani, you hike up to Poon Hill the next morning for another sunrise view over Annapurna Range. Afterward, you trek down to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara. The trip comes to an end once you leave Pokhara and head back to Kathmandu. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons are the best to travel as the trails will be decorated by the blooms of springtime. Throughout the trip, you will witness the wonderful village life and experience the culture of the Gurung and Magar communities.
