This trek follows the ancient passage that was used before the construction of the Lukla airport. Make your way through stunning sceneries and flourishing Sherpa culture and lifestyle that is bound to make you jump with joy. The 23 days trip in the eastern Himalayas of Nepal begins on your arrival in the glittering city of Kathmandu. As you indulge yourself in the sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu valley, you will see sites like Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath. After you get your permits ready, you head out to Jiri by using the Araniko highway. Admire the amazing Sun Koshi River and drive through districts like Ramechhap and Kavre to reach Jiri. It resides in the Dolakha district and is populated by Sherpas and Rai. Walk on the ascending trail that takes you to Shivalaya and after a quick stay, you can head to Bhandar. As we walk on the Likhu Khola, we can see the Lamjura hill. Cross the Lamjura pass which is the highest pass between Namche bazar and Jiri. The trail is intricately decorated with prayer flags. We reach Junbesi and interact with the locals here. The next day, we head out to Nunthala and on the way, we visit the Trakshindo monastery. This monastery is associated with Buddhism. Descend the Dudh Koshi River and reach Khari Khola. Across it, lies Paiya from where we will start our hike to Phakding. The trail sees a bit of traffic as well. From Phakding, we head to Namche bazar by walking on the banks of Dudh Koshi. Get your permits sorted at Jorsale and enter the Sagarmatha National Park. Spend a day in Namche by visiting the Khumjung monastery and Hotel Everest view. From here, the trail now leads us to Tyangboche which is famous for the Tyangboche monastery. A little ahead lies the Pangboche monastery. Walk on the Imja river valley to reach Dingboche and from here, walk on the Khumbu glacier moraine. Walk past Chupki Lahara and the memorial stop for tourists to finally arrive at Lobuche. A quick climb leads us to Everest Base camp and to Kala Patthar from where we can witness the glorious sunrise that illuminates the Everest region. Slowly make your way back to Lukla via Phakding and Namche Bazar. Catch a plane in Lukla that leads to Kathmandu and it is here that this trip will end.

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu |1,300m | 

    Welcome to the capital city of Nepal. Our company personnel will pick you up from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and then drive you to the hotel in a private Jeep. After checking in, you may spend the day roaming around the streets at Thamel and Basantapur. . Overnight in Kathmandu.

  • Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and trek Preparation

    After breakfast, you go on a day tour of the Kathmandu city. The visit of Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath and Durbar squares is on the list. You will get familiar with the culture and lifestyle of the people. Also, you get some idea of Nepalese history and arts. Along with sightseeing, you will spend the day getting your stuff and documents sorted for the trek. At the evening, you may stroll around the busy tourist streets of Thamel and grab some materials for the trip. Overnight at Kathmandu.

  • Day 03: Drive to Jiri |1995m|6-7 Hrs  

    Today, we drive to Jiri through the Araniko Highway alongside the banks of Sun Koshi River. As the drive is long, we need to start the trip early in the morning. Observe the glorious views of the winding terrain and small settlements. We pass the beautiful towns of north-eastern Nepal before reaching Jiri. We cross four districts Kavre, Sindhupalchowk, Ramechhap, Dolakha, and various local Bazaars. The drive enhances us with glamorous scenic views and landscapes. We spend the night in the amazing town of Jiri. Jiri is a bustling hill station which in recent years has garnered acclaim from the national and international tourists. Overnight in Jiri.

  • Day 04: Trek from Jiri to Bhandar |2190m|7 Hrs 

    Today is the first day of our trekking and we ascend the hills initially and later head down to Shivalaya. After that, the trail sees an increase in elevation and we climb through other small settlements like Sangbadanda, Kosaribas, and Bhanjyang. If you have adequate time, then you can choose to visit Thodung too. It involves taking a short detour from Sangba danda. We pass through the pine and oak forests with the melodious sound of the wind. After 7 hours walk through the forests and hills, we reach Bhandar. Overnight at Bhandar.

  • Day 05: Trek from Bhandar to Sethe |2985m| 7 Hrs 

    After breakfast, we begin our trek towards Sethe. The trail leads us through the Likhu Khola and onto Kenja. We ascend uphill to a long climb of Lamjura hill. We reach an abandoned stupa on the Sherpa mainland at an altitude of 2575 m. After that, the trail is gradual and easier through the Sherpa villages. We reach Sethe walking for 7 hours from the start. Overnight at Sethe.

  • Day 06: Trek from Sethe to Junbesi |2700m| 7 Hrs

    We begin the trek with a long and steep ascend to the top of Lamjura pass, at an altitude of 3530 m. The trail is wonderful with rhododendron forests and snowy landscapes. This is the highest pass between Jiri and Namche Bazaar. The summit of the pass is decorated with prayer flags and frosty winds. The trail now descends from the pass and we walk through dense forests. We then descend to Tragdobuk village which is decorated with prayer flags. From there, it is an hour or two away to the Sherpa village of Junbesi. Overnight at Junbesi.

  • Day 07: Trek from Junbesi to Nunthala |2194m| 7 Hrs

    After breakfast, we climb to a ridge from where Mount Everest can be seen. We walk through the hills and forests and reach the district headquarters at Salleri via Phaplu. We join the main trail leading towards Everest base camp from a small climb to Ringmo. To reach here, it is necessary to cross the Ringmo Khola. At Ringmo, you can see an apple orchard. There is also a trail that leads you to Namche Bazar. We reach Trakshindo pass at an altitude of 3100 m and visit the Trakshindo monastery. After visiting the monastery, we make our way towards Nunthala. Overnight in Nunthala. 

  • Day 08: Trek from Nunthala to Khari Khola |2040m|6 Hrs

    After an early breakfast in the green ambiance in Nunthala, we start our journey to Khari Khola. We first descend through the cold dark forests to the Dudh Koshi River. From there, the road climbs through several Sherpa villages. The terraced farms, houses and Sherpa ethnicity accompany us in the journey. We reach Khari Khola after about 6 hours of walking from Nunthala.  In comparison to other places, here you won’t find numerous lodges and teahouses. Overnight at Khari Khola.

     

  • Day 09: Trek from Khari Khola to Paiya |2730m| 6 Hrs

    We begin the day with breakfast in Khari Khola. Then, we climb the hills through Sherpa villages and forests. As the trail now starts to join the famous Everest Base camp trail, you can see quite a bit of traffic here which include a large number of trekkers. The vegetation also starts to change and you can find pine trees. The mountains appear closer and with the clear gesture. We walk through the pinewoods and cross various waterfalls on our way. The walk to Paiya takes about 6 hours, where the prayer flags and Sherpa hospitality awaits us. Overnight at Paiya.

  • Day 10: Trek from Paiya to Phakding |2610m|6 Hrs

    Today, we continue our journey by climbing a ridge from Paiya. By crossing suspension bridges and waterfalls, we continue descending to Surke from the ridge. The trail then leads to Sherpa village of Phakding. The houses form beautiful clusters, and a stone passage to walk in-between. The monasteries and Mani walls decorate the village with spiritual aroma. As you walk along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River, you’ll be greeted by a large number of trekkers. We spend the night at Phakding by exploring the lifestyle and culture of the Sherpa community. Overnight in Phakding.

  • Day 11: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar |3440m|6 Hrs

    Today, we go to the gateway of Mount Everest and the main trading center of the Khumbu region. The trails are decorated with rhododendrons, pines and junipers forests. After entering the UNESCO heritage site of Sagarmatha National park, we will get a glimpse of the amazing Mount Thamserku. You need to get your permits checked at Jorsale to enter Namche. It is the biggest Sherpa settlement in this region and is a major trading hub as well. The trail goes through the stone stairs and forests with an occasional meet with waterfalls and suspension bridges. We reach the splendid Namche Bazaar for the accommodation of the day.

  • Day 12:  Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar

    We reserve this day for acclimatization. We have been gaining altitude and it is better to take a day rest before elevating higher. Most trekkers and climbers spend their acclimatization day in the sensational settlement of Namche Bazaar. The day can be spent wandering around the horseshoe-shaped villages of Namche Bazaar. The place is rich in Sherpa culture and a lot can be studied about their way of life and history. Namche Bazaar is the most advanced and developed settlement in the Himalayan region of Nepal where you can also enjoy at the highest altitude Irish Pub. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 13: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche |3860m| 5 Hrs

    After breakfast, we trek towards Tyangboche which holds the largest monastery of the region. The trail goes easy for some hours and then we ascend upwards through the green and luscious forests. The glamorous view of the great Mount Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, and Ama Dablam is seen from Tyangboche. The village is also famous for the largest Tyangboche monastery where we can visit and get spiritual vibes with the Buddhist chants. Overnight at Tyangboche.

  • Day 14: Trek from Tyangboche to Dingboche|4410m|5 Hrs

    After the morning view of the mountains, we begin our trek from Tyangboche. We walk through the easy trail of rhododendron forests and conifers. We then cross the Imja River and reach Pangboche, which also contains the famous monastery of the Everest region. The trail is divided after Pangboche and it lets us chose the two trails to reach Dingboche. The upper route is a bit longer but offers an extremely gorgeous view of the Himalayas. We reach the picturesque valley, Dingboche after crossing the Lobuche River. Overnight at Dingboche.

  • Day 15: Acclimatization in Dingboche

    The day is for acclimatization at Dingboche. We can visit the Dingboche monastery after having breakfast. Besides, we may do a short hike to Chhukung village and Bibre village. Chhukung village is the best place for hiring peak climbing equipment. The village also offers a fantastic view of Ama Dablam and Lhotse Himal. You may also spend the day resting and wandering around the village to learn about the locals. Overnight at Dingboche.

  • Day 16: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche |4910m|5 Hrs

    After breakfast, we head for Lobuche. We shall initially reach Duglha and Chupki Lhara with a gentle climb. The trail from today sees a huge increase in snowfall and the trail becomes steep and slippery too. The prayer flags and Mani walls welcome us into the villages. We trek towards the Khumbu glacier moraine. The peaks of Mahalangur Himal, Khumbutse and Pumori start to welcome us from the horizon. We then continue the admirable trail to reach the sublime valley of Lobuche. Overnight at Lobuche.

  • Day 17: Trek to Everest Base Camp |5400m| then trek back to Gorakshep |5181m|8 Hrs

    Today, we head for the Everest base camp. The trail is steep upwards in the high altitude and can be troublesome. So, a gentle and calm walk is recommended. The path passes through rocky hills, moraines, and streams. Cold and thin air covers us throughout. From Gorakshep, the path is a bit tricky and hence a good guide is needed. The Everest base camp is a rocky structure floating on the great Khumbu glacier. We can celebrate our successful arrival in the land of Everest and we head back to Gorak Shep for the warm stay of the night.

  • Day 18: Hiking to Kalapatthar |5545m|-Gorakshep-Pheriche |4210m|7 Hrs

    We get up early this morning and walk towards Kalapatthar for the amazing sunrise view over the Everest Himalayan range. It takes about 2-3 hours to reach the summit of Kalapatthar. The top offers a captivating and elegant view of Everest and a panoramic view of the Himalayas. The feeling from Kalapatthar is so great that it can’t be put into words. We enjoy the feeling and head back to Gorak Shep. We then have our breakfast and descend to the amazing valley of Pheriche for the night stay.

  • Day 19: Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar |3440m| 6 Hours 

    Today, we descend to Namche Bazaar bypassing the villages of Pangboche, Dibuche, and Tyangboche. We continue through the beautiful hills with the colors of rhododendron. Following the Dudh Koshi gorge, we reach the majestic Namche Bazaar again. We can have some drinks and a celebration ceremony at the gorgeous settlement of the village. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 20: Trek from Namche to Lukla |2800m|7 Hrs

    After breakfast, we descend through the stairs of Namche Bazaar and a steep road of the forests. We then reach the adorable and compact village in Phakding where we shall have our lunch. After reaching Lukla, we rest our backpacks and end the last day of trekking. Overnight at Lukla.

  • Day 21: Fly to Kathmandu from Lukla Airport and free day 

    We fly to Kathmandu today early in the morning. The marvelous adventure in the mountains end today and we bid a warm farewell to the mountains once again from the sky. On our arrival in Kathmandu, we check in to the hotel. You may take some rest or wander around the streets of Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  • Day 22: Reserve Day 

    You may relax for the day or visit some famous places of the city including the world heritage sites like Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, and ancient Durbar squares. We offer a farewell dinner as a souvenir to the great expedition in the eastern Himalayas of Nepal. We remember the good and sweet memories and celebrate the journey. Overnight in Kathmandu. 

  • Day 23: Final departure

    This is the last day of your presence in the mountainous country Nepal. The company representative will take you to the airport in a private jeep before your scheduled flight. The backpacks and luggage are handled with great care.
