If you are amongst the one adventurous soul, this trek is meant for you. Mahure Danda Trek is a less crowded and newly explored route in the foothills of Annapurna Himalayan range. The trek is filled with excitement and adventure with the welcoming gesture of snowcapped mountains and hills. This trek is also recognized as the Eco-Community Lodge trek and it promotes the sustainable eco-tourism of these communities. Mahure Danda trek is an alternative to the mainstream Ghandruk-Ghorepani-Poonhill trek. The trekking offers with the sensational view of Annapurna Himalayan range, Dhaulagiri Himalayan range, and the peak of Nilgiri and Tukuche. Along with that, an exploration of the Gurung culture and tradition is the plus point of this amazing trek.
The 10 days trip to Mahure Danda starts on your arrival to the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. You drive to the alluring beauty of lakeside Pokhara and start your trekking from Bans Kharka. The trail then goes through amazing villages, rhododendron forests, and dazzling landscapes. You pass the Nangi village before reaching Mohare Danda which sits at an altitude of 3,300 m from sea level. The glorious sunrise and sunset view from the top of Mohare Danda is worth all the walking and muscles pain of the trip. You then travel through the Gurung villages in Deurali and Ghandruk on the shades of Mount Annapurna. The trekking ends after your arrival to Nayapul from the cultural village of Ghandruk. From here, you will head back to Nayapul. While doing so, you shall visit villages like Ulleri and Tatopani. You drive to Pokhara and then back to Kathmandu from there marking an end to this exhilarating journey. The best season to head for Mahure Danda is spring and autumn, while pre-monsoon and winter are also feasible and comfortable.
