The gompa is one of the most popular monasteries in Kathmandu and boats a Tibetan Buddhist heritage along with magnificent paintings and statues of Buddha. The premise of the Gompa is surrounded by a large garden with solar-powered lights which light up the garden at night giving it a beautiful halo. Hiking a little further from Kapan Gompa, you come across Phulbari where you get to see the beautiful view of the local villages that surround the valley. The Phulbari Monastery is another one of the attractions in this trail which is less than an hour away from the Kapan Gompa. The monastery is famous for the Thangkha paintings that decorate its walls which is why it has a huge cultural value.
