Overview

Kakani, a small village to the northwest of Kathmandu, is the perfect getaway for people seeking to enjoy the beauty of nature. The Kakani Hike is filled with lush forests, marvelous panoramic scenes of mountain ranges, warm and welcoming smiles of the local people. Kakani Hiking is also easily accessible and provides one of the best hiking experience around the Kathmandu Valley. Along with the lush forests in the Shivapuri National Park, Kakani Hiking also offers a mesmerizing panorama of the Himalayas.

Your trip starts with a short ride from Kathmandu towards the beautiful hills of Kakani which is around 30 kilometers away from the capital. The drive itself is filled with remarkable landscapes and natural beauty of the lush hills and winding rivers. You will start your hike from Kaule, enjoying the peaceful forests of Kakani as you reach the Kakani Hilltop from where you will view the breathtaking view of mountain peaks like Mt. Ganesh (7422 m), Langtang Lirung (7227 m), Gauri Shankar (7134 m) and other eastern Himalayan ranges. The hilltop perfectly captures the natural richness of Nepal. A small village awaits you at the hilltop at an altitude of 2073m. The village also provides a sound climate for different types of flora and fauna to flourish. You can visit the Thai Memorial Park established to remember the 113 victims who had to lose their lives in the 1992 Thai Airlines crash. The strawberry farms of Kakani, established with the initiative of JAITI Nepal, is also one of the main attraction sites of Kakani because of its huge success. Similarly, you can also taste the fresh Rainbow Trout fish at Kakani. The welcoming Tamang people living in the area indulge in making liquor from rhododendron and strawberry which is rich in flavor and also something you will not find everywhere.  The best season to travel is spring or autumn.

We, at Miteri Nepal, assure you of a safe journey along with excellent services to complement the trips. We have an expert team of skilled manpower including guides, porters, and Sherpas. Moreover, you also have the option to modify the trip itinerary as per your preferences.
