The starting point of your trip is Kathmandu from where you will take a short drive to Thankot. Driving along the highway, you arrive at the cable car station. You will then take the 15-minute ride on the cable car, from the base of the Chandragiri hill to the top which is a different experience altogether. The ride presents the delirious views of the surrounding hilly landscapes and settles at the Chandragiri Hill. From Chandragiri, you take the sharp slope tracks and travel even further into the wilderness through nature made tracks. At the height of 2285m, you reach Champadevi hill, which gets its name from the goddess Champadevi. The hill of Champadevi is significant to both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims because of the temple of Champadevi and the Buddhist Stupas that reside here. You can explore around the premises of the temple and the stupa and revel in the religious tolerance present in Nepal. From both the Chandragiri and Champadevi hills you can gaze towards the marvelous mountain ranges and peaks such as Langtang ranges, Mt. Ganesh (7422m), Mt. Manaslu (8163m), Gaurishankar (7134m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m) and so on. Additionally, the beautiful birds-eye view of the Kathmandu Valley also offers a glorious company to the Himalayas. At the end of the day, you begin the hike down to Machhegaun and conclude the trip with a drive back to the capital.
