Zip Flying or Zip Lining in Nepal offers the incomparable thrill and a glimpse of the natural beauty of Nepal. As such, there are two famous zip flying spots in Nepal: Pokhara and Dhulikhel.

The zip flying spot in Pokhara starts from Sarangkot and ends on the Hemja plains. The zip line of Sarangkot is known as the longest, steepest, and fastest in the world which is why it attracts many thrill-seekers. The incline of 56 degrees and the length of 1.8 km with a drop of 600 meters provides a thrill every zip flyer seek out. The cherry on the top of the zip flying in Pokhara are the views of the Annapurna mountain ranges and the mesmerizing Pokhara Valley. Dhulikhel is located 32 km away from Kathmandu and is another famous zip flying site in Nepal. You will take an hour-long drive to Dhulikhel from Kathmandu to reach the zip flying site. With a 73 degree inclination and a vertical drop of 1100 meters, this zip lining is one of the most extreme ones. The starting point is at Thakle of Dhulikhel at the height of 2300m and the zip line ends at Khawa in Paachkhal. The beautiful view of the mountain ranges like Mt. Ganesh (7422m) and the green hills of Dhulikhel make the adventure even more thrilling and interesting. Zip flying can be done in all seasons. However, it is best to avoid rainy seasons beforehand because it can put a damp to your adventure.

Itinerary

Day 01

In Pokhara

First we will take a 45-minute drive to the hill station of Sarangkot from the Lakeside. You can enjoy exploring the hill station as well. After the payment and instruction, the actual zip line takes at most 2 minutes to get down where you can enjoy the thrilling speed. The drive back from the end of the zip line i.e. Hemja takes about 30 minutes to reach the Lakeside.

In Dhulikhel

The drive from Kathmandu to Dhulikhel is an hour-long ride. You will further drive for a few minutes to reach Thakle which is the starting point of the zip line. The drop takes about 2 to 3 minutes after the payment and training are done. You will reach the endpoint of the line i.e. Khawa. You can enjoy a light meal in Dhulikhel and then take the half an hour drive back to Kathmandu.
