Overview

The highest hill around the Kathmandu Valley, Phulchowki, holds a special place in the hearts of travelers because of its natural beauty. Away from the busy city of Kathmandu, Phulchowki Hill is rich in natural diversity with dense tropical forests and varieties of animals, birds, and butterflies. The Phulchowki Hiking is a trip filled with heart-throbbing sights of the mountain ranges and a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley.

You will start your trip from Kathmandu and drive about 14 km southwest to reach the Godavari. Here, the cool breeze and silent forests will welcome you as you head to the base of Phulchowki hill. The hike begins here as you walk along the forested trails and gradually make an uphill climb. As you hike along the trails of Phulchowki, you can enjoy the rich collection of flora and fauna. Phulchowki is also one of the best bird-watching destinations around Kathmandu because of the different variety of birds that roam around its dense forests. Similarly, the trails on the hike are also famous for housing a diverse array of exotic butterflies. Red, as well as white rhododendrons, adorn the hills of Phulchowki making the hike even more enjoyable. The view of mountain ranges like the Annapurna Range and Gaurishankar Range can be seen from the top of the hill along with the view of the ever so busy Kathmandu valley. On the top of the Phulchowki hill lays the shrine Phulchowki Mai which is visited by many Hindu pilgrims all around the year. The best time to hike on these lands for a religious traveler would be March- April when festivities are at its peak. Winter season also attracts many tourists in this reason because it is one of the few places which receive snowfall.

We, at Miteri Nepal, assure you of a safe journey along with excellent services to complement the trips. We have an expert team of skilled manpower including guides, porters, and Sherpas. Moreover, you also have the option to modify the trip itinerary as per your preferences.
