Overview

Paragliding in Nepal is an adventure sport that truly showcases the beauty of the diverse landscape of Nepal. As such, the valley of Pokhara is certainly a gem when it comes to paragliding. The temperate climate throughout the year and the beautiful scenes of lakes, lush hills, and the terraced rice fields provide a breathtaking view for paragliding. Additionally, the Annapurna range and Mt. Machhapuchhre (6997m) offer a gorgeous backdrop while you soar with the clouds.

Your paragliding trip will start with a short drive from Lakeside to Sarangkot. It is also a popular hiking and zip-lining spot in Pokhara. The magnificent view of the mountain ranges along with the unobstructed view of the sunrise and sunset attracts national and international tourists every year. This scenery is even more attractive for paragliding. Your take-off will be from the top of the hills of Sarangkot. The paragliding in itself in this region is safe because of the stable weather conditions, convenient take-off and also landing grounds. You can choose whether you want a guide or want to glide along. The flight takes off from the hill of Sarangkot and descends to the side of Phewa Lake.

The activity can be done in any season; you just have to avoid doing the activity in the rain. September to November and February to March provide the best weather for paragliding. The best time to glide is 10 am, 12 am or 2 am when the skies are clear. Similarly, you can also choose from several paragliding packages as per your preferences.
