Annapurna region is one of the famous tourist destinations of Nepal. Along with the Annapurna massif, there are many beautiful and historical places. The Annapurna Circuit with Thorang La Pass via Tilicho lake package is designed to take you into the highs and lows of the Annapurna region which starts from Besisahar and ends at Jomsom. In this 24-day journey, you will get to witness the sheer beauty and grandeur of the Annapurna region in the form of mountains, lakes, and culture. This package takes less than a month i.e. 24 days to complete. You start at Kathmandu and after fulfilling the legal formalities, we head straight to Besisahar, which is one of the famous entry points for Annapurna Circuit. The drive goes along the Prithivi highway and gives us amazing glimpses of the surrounding terrain and nature. Walk beside the Trishuli River and arrive at Bhulbhule. Gather all your necessities and cordially commence the trek. Walk past the Syange waterfall and cross the Bahun danda to find yourself in the vicinity of Ghermu. Admire the amazing picture of the Annapurna Mountains and forge along the Marsayangdi River to reach Tal. This village is beautifully surrounded by waterfalls which makes it appealing. From here, we trek to Chame which is the headquarters of Manang. Walking along the forested trails and crossing the Dhukur Pokhari takes us to Pisang. Visit the ancient monastery in Bryanga and rest at Manang. A day will be separated for acclimatizing in Manang. You can visit the Milarepa cave and the HRA during your stay here. From Manang, we head to Khangsar which is the final stop before the Tilicho Lake. This village has ancient ruins which are worth a visit. Move across landslide-prone areas to reach the Tilicho base camp. The next day, head to Tilicho Lake and marvel at the sight of this bluish gem and observe the delightful Himalayan panorama too. Retrace your steps to Khangsar, and move towards Yak Kharka. This grazing ground has shepherds and blue sheep. Head towards the Thorung La Pass and find yourself surrounded by an amazing picture of mountains. On the other side lies the famous Muktinath temple. We will visit it and indulge in daily prayers as well. The trail now takes us back to Jomsom via Kagbeni and the dusty roads. The trail now sees a decrease in elevation and we reach Tukuche. Take a quick rest at Marpha and be sure to taste the local apples here. On your way back to Pokhara, relax at the Tatopani hot springs. Move to Ghorepani and climb the Poon hill to observe the surreal views of mountains that decorate the Annapurna region. Slowly move towards Ulleri, and make your way back to Pokhara via bus.

After an early breakfast, you drive to Besisahar via the Prithivi Highway. En route, you can enjoy the scenic views of hills and settlement areas. The drive gives you an amazing picture of the Trishuli River and faraway mountains that comprise the hilly region of Nepal. Besisahar is one of the entry points for the Annapurna Circuit and is often frequented by tourists. There, you rest and have lunch or light snacks. Then you do a short trek from there to Bhulbhule. You are now entering the wild and forested trails of the Annapurna region. Overnight in Bhulbhule.
After breakfast, you start to trek uphill to today’s destination Ghermu. You cross the Ngadi River and reach Bahundanda. You can catch glimpses of Manaslu Mountain if the weather is in your favor. You come across Lili Bhir, which is a dangerous cliff so you need to be careful while crossing it. As you walk along the forested trail, you can even see the Syange waterfall. The view is amazing and in evening, you reach Ghermu. It is a pristine village in the laps of Annapurna region. Once you reach the village, you can explore it. Overnight at Ghermu
Today’s destination is Ghermu and you start to walk after breakfast. We have to cover quite a distance so it is recommended that we start early. The trail starts to see an increase in elevation and continues until we reach Syange. Take a much-needed rest there and move across the Marsayangdi River to reach Jagat. This is a busy town in these parts and comprises mostly of local markets, shops, and teahouses. After having lunch here, we proceed towards Tal. This small settlement is a beautiful place to relax and rejuvenate. Overnight in Tal.
After an early breakfast, you head to the trail leading to Chame. The first village you come to is Dharapani. The entrance of this village is marked by a Chorten which has roots with the Tibetan culture. Bagarchhap is another stopping point for us which is mostly covered with flat stone houses. As we move ahead, we make a quick stop at Diki Gompa, one of the famous monasteries of the area. After that, you walk through a dense rhododendron forest and reach the entrance of Chame, the biggest market and headquarter of Manang. Overnight in Chame.
After breakfast, you explore the market area quickly and head to today’s destination, Pisang. You cross the Marsayangdi River and reach Bhratang and then Dhukur Pokhari. The trail goes through a thick forest filled with pines and firs. You need to cross a long bridge from where you can catch surreal pictures of Paungda Danda. The trail later goes into a forest and later reaches Pisang. You check-in at the lodge and refresh. Then you head to upper Pisang to see the beautiful panorama of Annapurna range. After an early breakfast, you hit the trail. There are two trails from this point but both of them meet at Bryanga. At Bryanga, there is an ancient monastery so you make a quick stop at this place to explore it. The northern trail provides beautiful sceneries but is unsafe, so you take the direct one. The road goes along the Marsayangdi River and gives us an example of the roads yet to come. The trail is dusty as well. The road later meets at Mungji and from there, we proceed ahead until we arrive at Manang. Overnight in Manang.
Since you’ll be going to higher elevations, you need to make yourself familiar with the high altitude. You can attend the lectures given by the Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) or can opt to explore the market area. After lunch, you visit the nearby monastery to visit the monks and learn about Buddhism. Then, you hike to the famous Milarepa Cave, which was the home of the famous 11th century Tibetan Buddhist philosopher. Learn about the cultures and traditions in these parts too. Overnight in Manang.
Today, you hit the trail that leads to Khangsar. It is also called as the gateway to the Tilicho Lake. Although the walk from Manang is relatively less time consuming, it is recommended that you start early. En route, you can see amazing views of Annapurna II and Marsayangdi River, as the trail goes along the banks of it. After crossing a bridge, you pass by the Marsayangdi canyon and then reach Thorong River. The trail goes uphill through lush vegetation and you know Khangsar is near. There are small lodges and settlements here. Overnight in Khangsar.
You wake up to a spectacular view of the Tilicho peak and have breakfast. Then you head for the Tilicho Basecamp. En route, you can see beautiful sceneries of Tilicho peak and Idam Phra. You can also see the prayer flags which add color to the scenic arid landscape. Then come across Khangsar Gompa and rest while enjoying the views of the Great Barrier. Then you reach Tilicho Basecamp and set up tents. Overnight in Tilicho base camp.
You wake up early to avoid midday windy weather and have breakfast. Then you hike to Tilicho Lake to explore this famous area. The lake is slated as the highest lake of the world even though debates are going on about it. You can see amazing views of Tilicho, Nilgiri and Muktinath peaks. After exploring for a few hours, you head back to camp and descend to Khangsar. Enjoy the delicious cuisine here and learn the culture and traditions here. Overnight in Khangsar.
After breakfast, you ascend to the high ground known as Yak Kharka, which is the pastureland for yaks. The first stop is Tengi and this village is the last settlement area you’ll see in this trail. En route, you can meet the Himalayan blue sheep and yaks as well. You will also see stunning views of the Annapurna range and the Great Barrier. Overnight in Yak Kharka.
Today, you have breakfast and hit the trail that leads to Thorong Phedi. You slowly ascend to Ledar and come across a beautiful lake. You can see spectacular views of Chortens with Annapurna II and Gangapurna in the background. Then the path comes to sloping hills prone to landslides, so you need to be careful. Then you reach Thorung Phedi. This is a small settlement just below the Thorung La Pass. There is a small settlement here and it consists of small lodges. Overnight in Thorung Phedi.
You wake up early at 6:00 am to go to the highest pass and point of this trek, the Thorong La Pass. You walk through a snowy and narrow path. En route, you can see amazing views of Annapurna. Once you reach the top, you can see surreal views of numerous mountains. Then you head down to Thorong Phedi. There are trekkers and climbers here and you can interact with them. Overnight in Thorong Phedi.
The trail for the day takes us to Muktinath. The trail slowly descends to arid regions of Mustang and you can see the Kali Gandaki valley. En route, you can see many blue sheep grazing and you come across a board welcoming you to Muktinath. The Muktinath Temple is sacred for both Hindus and Buddhists so pilgrims often visit it. Once at Muktinath, you can bath in the numerous water taps and take part in the puja. Overnight stay at the lodge.
Early morning, you visit the Muktinath Temple and worship. Then you visit the Jwala Mai, which holds the eternal flame and other famous landmarks around the temple. Then you head to Jomsom. You come across Jharkot, where you can see the ruins of the royal palace of the King of Mustang. En route, you see many Chortens and prayer flags and reach Kagbeni, a village situated between the meeting point of Kali Gandaki and Jhang Khola. Then you go to Lubra and from there Jomsom is an hour away. Overnight in Jomsom.
Today you trek to Tukuche. The trail first goes along the banks of the Syange Khola and you get spectacular views of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri. Halfway through your come across Marpha, the village famous for its apple production. Then you walk along the banks of the Kali Gandaki River. En route, you can see a massive historical gompa in Syange. You can visit it if you want. Then with the Tukuche peak in view, you reach the rustic Tukuche village. Overnight in Tukuche.
You have your breakfast and explore the village. The architectures of the houses are unique and the Thakali cuisines are exquisite. Then you head back to Marpha for overnight stay. You hit the trail through which you came to Tukuche. Once you reach there, you visit one of the apple farms. You try out the apple products like apple wine. You explore the market and learn about the village’s rich history. Overnight in Marpha.
You have a lavish breakfast and hit the trail leading to Tatopani today. The trail descends as you walk along the banks of Kali Gandaki. You also come across the world’s deepest gorge, the Kali Gandaki gorge. The rocky trail goes through a cliff, so you need to be cautious. Once you reach Tatopani, you check-in at the hotel and visit the famous natural hot springs. Overnight stay at Tatopani.
After breakfast, you hit the trail leading to Sikha. The trail goes uphill and at some parts and you need to climb a long staircase. You can see many small settlement areas along the way. Once you reach the village, you know that the people of this village are farmers and herders. Since tourists do not frequent it, there are very few lodges here. Overnight stay at Sikha.
You have breakfast and head to Ghorepani. Today also, the trail goes uphill but will be less difficult than the trail you walked to Sikha. You climb many staircases and en route, you can see amazing views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri if the weather is clear. Ghorepani is a famous settlement in the Annapurna region and is part of the famous Poon Hill trek. You cross the rhododendron forest and reach Ghorepani. Overnight in Ghorepani.
The panorama from Poonhill is the best during sunrise and sunset, so you wake up at dawn to view the sunrise. You hike up and enjoy the breath-taking view of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna and the neighboring peaks. The view from Poon Hill is one of the best views you’ll see in your life. After soaking in the beautiful scenery, you head back to lodge, pack up and start your trek to Ulleri. The trail is steep and you need to do a lot of descending to reach Ulleri. This is a Gurung settlement and you can observe the culture here. Overnight in Ulleri.
Today is the last day of trekking. You have your breakfast and then head for Pokhara. The trail goes a steep downhill terrain and you notice that the vegetation gets dense with a certain meter of descending. Enjoy the views of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre for the last part of your trek. Once you reach PumdiBhumdi, a vehicle will take you to your hotel at Pokhara. In Pokhara, you can spend your time exploring Lakeside. Overnight in Pokhara.
After the long and tiring trip, it is time to head back to Kathmandu. You have your breakfast and then hit the road. The drive takes about 6 hours and goes through the beautiful Prithivi highway.
