Mount Kailash is one of the most sacred and spiritually significant mountains in the world. Located in the remote Ngari region of western Tibet, it stands at an altitude of 6,638 meters and is revered by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers alike. Believed to be the divine abode of Lord Shiva, Mount Kailash, along with the holy Lake Mansarovar, attracts thousands of pilgrims every year seeking spiritual purification and inner peace. Unlike other Himalayan peaks, Mount Kailash is not climbed; instead, devotees perform the sacred parikrama (kora) around the mountain, a journey believed to cleanse sins and bring spiritual liberation.
This spiritually enriching journey begins upon your arrival in Kathmandu, where our representatives will receive you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. In the evening, pilgrims visit the revered Pashupatinath Temple to witness the holy Aarati. The following day, we fly to Lhasa, the cultural and spiritual capital of Tibet. After proper acclimatization, we explore important landmarks such as the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Market, gaining insight into Tibetan Buddhism and heritage. From Lhasa, we take a scenic flight to Ali (Ngari) and drive through vast high-altitude landscapes to reach Lake Mansarovar, where pilgrims perform holy bathing, rituals, prayers, and meditation in the serene surroundings. We then proceed to Darchen, the base camp of Mount Kailash, to prepare for the sacred journey ahead.
The most significant part of the yatra begins from Yam Dwar, the gateway to Mount Kailash Parikrama. Pilgrims trek through rugged yet breathtaking terrain to Dirapuk, enjoying close views of the sacred north face of Mount Kailash. The second day of the parikrama is the most challenging and spiritually rewarding, as pilgrims cross the revered Dolma La Pass (5,630 m) and visit the holy Gauri Kund before descending to Zutulpuk Monastery, an important meditation site. After completing the parikrama, we return to Darchen and travel back to Ali and Lhasa before flying to Kathmandu, where this divine 11-day journey concludes.
